I tried to keep it brief, but failed miserably! I hope you enjoy perusing some general images and videos of flora and fauna taken by me in gardens that I have either created, enhanced or maintained. Click photo for description.
Red-tailed bumblebee bombus lapidarius mating on my garden lawn. Fascinating behaviour and a privilege to see. Careful with the mowers!
Goldfinches and blue tits having a joyous feast on seedheads of verbena bonariensis
Amorous frogs singing with joy - annual visitors to this pond, always arriving early, this video taken oon 27th January!
These honey bees apis mellifera did not stop all day! Feasting on the poppies papaver orientalis
White-tailed bumblebee bombus leucorum nest within a crack in mossy old yorkstone paving. A reminder not to over-tidy our paths!
A wasp's nest in my own porch, and a rare sight to be able to observe
behaviour within the nest. I took this one slowly, and allowed the nest to remain in situ.
OK, so not strictly in my garden, but a garden visitor nonetheless. I was amazed to see this wasp flying through the window to my bathroom tap throughout the day
I have never seen so many snail shells. Found on a woodland track on the edge of my garden. Lucky thrush. I assume a song thrush as she's a regular visitor to the garden
This pond had been built for just one day when this blackbird took advantage and had a spa day
Completion day on one of my wildlife ponds - scroll to the end for
a little wildlife surprise!
